Applications are invited for the post of Languages for All tutor in Mandarin in the School of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures.

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Mandarin teacher to join our vibrant team on the Languages for All programme.

The position will involve teaching students and staff of Royal Holloway as well as members of the local community during the academic year 2018-2019. There will be a two-hour session for complete beginners and a two-hour session for students who have already some basic knowledge of the language. These classes will be run on Wednesday between 16.00 and 20.30 for 10 weeks in term 1 (September-December) and 10 weeks in term 2 (January – March).The timetabling for the classes can be discussed during the interview. In addition, there will also be some preparation duties.

The applicant will be an enthusiastic and motivated teaching professional with excellent understanding of the linguistic structures of Mandarin and of the current methodological practices in language teaching, within Higher Education. S/he will also possess very good English communication skills, and have a keen interest in encouraging and inspiring students to love learning Mandarin.

This is an hourly paid fixed term post for 4 hours based in Egham, Surrey, where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London. The role is only required for two teaching terms for 2018-2019.
