Senior Lecturer/Reader in Imperial and Global History
Applications are invited from scholars with an outstanding track-record in teaching and research on the history of modern empires. The teaching remit will include, but not be limited to, the history of the British Empire, and applications from colleagues bringing additional strengths in areas such as gender, religion, slavery, and legal or cultural hybridity are encouraged.
The successful applicant will take a leadership role in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision, administrative and public engagement work, alongside individual and collaborative research. In the case of an exceptional candidate the Department may consider appointing at a lower band (Grade 8). The essential qualification for this role is educated to PhD level.
This is a full-time, permanent post to begin 1 September 2018. It is based in Egham, Surrey, where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London. There may be the possibility of a 2nd post through this recruitment. The 2nd post would be fixed term.
