The EPSRC-funded research project on which the appointed RA will work is led by Laura Ciobanu as principal investigator. The broader Heriot-Watt University pure mathematics group is part of several networks comprised of universities in Scotland and England: the North British Semigroups and Applications Network, the North British Geometric Group Theory, and the Groups, Generalisations and Applications Network. Heriot-Watt and the University of Edinburgh cooperate in running the Maxwell Institute for Mathematical Sciences and the International Centre for Mathematical Sciences.
