Teach various Law courses as assigned. Other duties will include counseling students, mentoring staff and supervising higher degree research students, and participation in curriculum development and assessment.  Candidate will be expected to conduct scholarly research leading to refereed publications, service to the profession, the University and the community.

Key Duties:

Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Law and other related subject areas and also willing to undertake additional administration as and when requested.

Person Specification:  

PHD in Law with either a formal tertiary teaching qualification or a good relevant tertiary (normally an aggregate of four years) teaching experience. with demonstrated research outcomes, and/or project / academic/ intellectual leadership/management and/or publications in recognized journals/outlets, and/or significant number of consultancy outcomes, are essential.   Tertiary teaching experience and expertise in Law at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  Professional or managerial experience in related areas, and the ability to develop and teach Law and related courses.  Successful candidate must be able to teach undergraduate and graduate courses as well as teach both day and evening classes.   An Assistant Professor should be able to provide leadership and foster excellence in research, teaching, curriculum and policy development in his/her area of expertise, and/or in professional, commercial or industrial sectors. He/she shall have attained recognition as an eminent authority in his/her discipline.
