Senior Lecturer in Manufacturing Engineering
We are seeking a high quality candidate to support the GBP 30m expansion of engineering provision at the University of Central Lancashire. Candidates should demonstrate enthusiasm for the subject of engineering, excellent communication skills and have experience of teaching along with a research or industrial background.
Successful candidates will have a BEng or MEng in Engineering (or a similar subject) and a PhD in a specialist area of: additive manufacturing, CAD, CAM, rapid prototyping, digital manufacturing, design, 3D printing, etc. They should be able to demonstrate effective teaching skills, including the capability to motivate and support students and an ability to contribute to new course developments, supported by an HE teaching qualification.
The role will involve: engagement in course leadership and development, teaching, research and knowledge transfer, contributions to new developments growing out of our existing courses in mechanical and manufacturing engineering and support for the development/use of distance learning and innovative teaching methods within the School. Experience of teaching in HE, undertaking research and/or industry experience in engineering, are essential, supported by excellent team working and communication skills.
Successful candidates will also display the potential to engage in internationally competitive academic research and/or support clients who are industrial partners of the Engineering Innovation Centre.
