Senior Clinical Lecturer - Medicine
The School wishes to appoint a highly motivated individual to contribute and lead in the delivery of the medicine module to the clinical medical students and the MSc Hospitalist Medicine programme at West Cumberland Medical Education Centre based at the Westlakes Campus. The post is 0.3 FTE with teaching on the Hospitalist Medicine Programme taking place on a Thursday with the remainder of the time within the year being flexible in agreement with the Head of School/Head of Phase 2 MBBS.
The post holder will support small collaborative group learning on the MSc Hospitalist Medicine programme as well as undertaking the role of Academic Advisor for a group of students, including review of the students' portfolios.
The two-year Hospitalist Medicine programme follows the Royal College of Physicians curriculum to equip clinical professionals from a non-medical background with the competencies to work in acute medicine and are led by Professor Gershan Davis, Professor of Cardiology at UCLan and NCUH.
Applicants will have substantial experience of working within a healthcare setting and a medical qualification with the ability to supervise clinical teaching. Experience of designing and delivery academic programmes, tutoring/mentoring and of teaching medical student at undergraduate level is essential. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills are essential.
