Lecturer in German with TESOL
Part of Sheffield Business School, the Department of Management combines academic excellence, real-world relevance, innovation and strong business partnerships to maximise the future potential of our students. And it’s a focus on development that extends to our staff too — with special interest groups and links with professional bodies providing a unique platform for academic development, knowledge exchange, research and CPD.
We are looking for a lecturer in German with Tesol to teach on a range of modules from German language (from beginners to advanced level) to contemporary economic, cultural, political and social issues. You will also deliver on a number of 1st to final year modules and a pre-master certificate, relating to the development of academic and professional skills for international students, including some delivered overseas in partner institutions.
You will be a native, or near native, German speaker with experience of teaching German at a wide range of levels. You must also have experience of teaching English as a Foreign Language. Some experience of working in a business / institutional context in a German speaking environment would also be an advantage but isn't essential. You will be expected to contribute to the Languages and Cultures research and scholarship agenda.
We welcome applications for job-share, part-time and flexible working arrangements
We particularly welcome applicants from underrepresented groups
For non-EU applicants, we are unlikely to be able to offer a certificate of sponsorship for this job (unless you are switching from a UK student visa), so you should only apply if you already have unrestricted permission to work in the UK.
