£33,519 to £38,833
Fixed Term
Full Time

This post is part of the ‘TRANSFORMing Cancer Outcomes in Yorkshire - funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research’ programme.

This post if fixed term for 3 years.

Cancer outcomes are poorer in Yorkshire than in England as a whole, and are especially poor in Hull. People with higher socioeconomic status have substantially better health than those with lower socioeconomic status; this is also true in relation to cancer outcomes. Yorkshire Cancer Research (YCR) has awarded the University of Hull a £4.9m programme of research to tackle these cancer inequalities. We aim to address key gaps in knowledge related to inequalities in experience of and outcomes from cancer, especially related to age and socio-economic differences, in the following areas: early diagnosis and detection, patient management, survivorship and palliative care.

We are recruiting to Senior Fellowship posts within this programme, and this post holder will work as part of the team to support pilot/feasibility work and the development of funding proposals. We want to appoint a post-doctoral, band 7, research fellow in cancer statistics. The successful candidate will have experience in observational and experimental study design and data analysis.

To discuss this role informally, please contact Professor Miriam Johnson; Miriam.johnson@hyms.ac.uk, 01482 463309
