Job Description

The research assistant (RA) will be responsible for various administrative functions for clinical research studies in the Translational Research Core within the Department of medicine, Hematology/Oncology section. As part of that, the RA will be responsible for assistant faculty with their research projects, IRB submissions, laboratory activities, and data entry. Essential Responsibilities/ Duties: Provides assistance to multiple faculty with the preparation of project related reports, manuscripts, and presentations (35%) Prepares tables, graphs, fact sheets, and written reports summarizing research results (25%) Assist with regulatory documents, consent forms, and completing IRB submissions (10%) Responsible for scheduling and confirming follow up visits within assigned time frame for research participants. (10%) Process lab samples and ship biological samples according to protocol and IATA/DOT guidelines. Track lab supply inventory and orders items for upcoming study subject appointments. Assist with data entry for research protocols. Reviews data for accuracy and completeness prior to entry into electronic data capture systems. (10%) Performs miscellaneous administrative duties such as answering phones, picking up and delivering mail, storing and distributing office supplies, handling faxes, scanning, photocopying, collating materials, filing, maintaining the updates of policy manuals, managing study staff certifications and licenses, maintaining databases, taking notes at meetings, distributing meeting minutes, etc. (5%) Adheres to legal, professional and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy. Responsible for obtaining and maintaining all necessary study certifications, including Human Subject Protections, Good Clinical Practice, Shipping Biological Samples, etc. (5%)

Required Skills

0-2 years of experience and Bachelor’s degree required. Strong analytic and written communication
