Following the growth in our initial teacher education (ITE) provision, the Faculty is seeking applications from well-qualified, enthusiastic and committed people to join our successful team.
The Faculty of Education and Children’s Services is a vibrant and expanding area of the University of Chester, providing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for trainee teachers, a flourishing continuing professional development programme for serving teachers and undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Early Childhood Studies, Education Studies and Youth Work programmes relevant to the wider children’s workforce. The Faculty is developing its research portfolio and has recently developed the Centre for Research in Education, Creativity and Practice (RECAP).
The successful candidates will be expected to make a distinctive contribution to the work of the Faculty through research and the provision of professional development services regionally, nationally and internationally. Whilst the post-holder will primarily be required to teach and take a lead across the primary curriculum based at University Centre Shrewsbury, they may be required to contribute to other areas on the Faculty programmes and to teach in Chester. It is essential the candidate is familiar with the Primary curriculum and ITE in England, but it would be helpful for the candidate to have some knowledge of the current developments in the Welsh Curriculum and Welsh ITE.
Candidates may download further details and an application form from our website at www.chester.ac.uk/jobs/ and applications should be made via our online recruitment website quoting reference number RA002923a.
Pre-application enquiries may be made to Andy Connell, Head of ITE via email: email@example.com or by telephone on 01244 511396.
Interviews will be held on 24th or 25th May 2018
Closing date: Friday 18th May 2018
