We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Psychology. We are especially keen to attract applicants working in an areas of Developmental, Cognitive, Social and Applied Psychology, with experience with qualitative research methods.

You will join a small close-knit programme and teaching community, where the students benefit from a more individualised educational experience. Our programme is based on modern trends in Psychology, BPS core content requirements, and ‘Best Practice’. You will work on an innovative programme that has been designed with student employability at its core. We tackle issues in workshops and assessments that are considered current trends and/or are close to the heart of the Shropshire community. We are very proud to be both student-focused and research-focussed, which informs our teaching and has real-world impact.

You will contribute fully to the academic life of this small, friendly Department and to the University of Chester as a whole. The University of Chester has a long and proud history as an institution of Higher Education. The University Centre Shrewsbury (UCS) campus is located in Shrewsbury, a beautiful Shropshire medieval market town, with plenty of local attractions and historical landmarks. Shrewsbury has been known as the "Town of Flowers", and is the birthplace of Charles Darwin. Its location means that we have easy access both to other cities and to fantastic countryside. Relocation expenses are available in line with University policy.

The successful applicant will have a degree in Psychology and will have (or be close to completing) a PhD (or professional doctorate) in Psychology. If you are not already a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) then you will be required and supported to obtain this.
