DEAN OF ACADEMIC QUALITY AND ENHANCEMENT
£70,006 - £74,255 PER ANNUM
The role of Dean of AQE has become available due to the retirement of the current post holder. Working with the University’s senior management, you will take operational responsibility for all matters relating to the maintenance and enhancement of quality and academic standards across the University and institutional quality assurance systems and processes. You will also have a close involvement with learning and teaching matters, the enhancement of the student experience, student progression and retention. You will also provide strategic advice to the University, its Senior Management Team and Deans of Faculty on national policies and initiatives in respect of the above. Additionally you will be required to manage the work of the Academic Quality and Enhancement Department and all matters relating to the line management and deployment of its staff.
You will have a Doctoral qualification and will be able to demonstrate strong evidence of a successful track record of managing a team of staff. You will be able to evidence your ability in and experience of academic or professional leadership, particularly in respect of the assurance and enhancement of academic quality and standards, the enhancement of teaching, scholarship, and professional development. The ability to keep abreast of, and lead developments in, quality and standards assurance and enhancement is essential, as is an expert understanding of the University’s quality assurance and enhancement procedures.
