The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) is a key member of the University’s executive, responsible for the strategic leadership of the University’s academic portfolio.

With overall responsibility for the planning, quality and delivery of the University’s teaching programs, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) leads the development and review of the University’s academic quality and standards, and learning and curriculum renewal.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) has a lead role in engaging with external statutory authorities involved in the teaching and learning mission of Southern Cross, and for building and managing strong relationships and networks with key internal and external stakeholders and strategic academic partners.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic)’s portfolio includes providing strategic leadership to seven of the University’s Schools and Colleges, the Centre for Teaching and Learning and the Office of Planning, Quality and Review; as well as providing oversight of the student complaint resolution processes, student misconduct procedures, academic governance processes and academic integrity matters.

To be successful you will demonstrate an extensive understanding of the contemporary academic environment, including a distinguished track record in the development and delivery of academic excellence in teaching, learning and research and the ability to establish credibility with the academic community.

In addition to a distinguished record of scholarship, you will demonstrate a significant and successful track record of effective strategic development and implementation and people management.

This role can be located at either the Gold Coast or Lismore Campus.
