The College of Design and Social Context encompasses RMIT University's renowned art, communication, built environment, design, education and social science disciplines and is comprised of seven schools.
The School of Education is a collegial, collaborative and creative space for teaching, learning and research in the discipline of Education. The school recognises the value of education that is relevant and innovative and is therefore a dual sector school that works actively with industry, government and the community partners in real world settings to provide a range of programs from specially tailored intervention programs for young people at risk of leaving education to PhDs in education.
The Personal Assistant will be responsible for providing high quality, flexible administrative and secretarial support to the Dean of School and designated members of the School Executive. They will have regular contact with different areas of the College and University and will be the first point of contact for those making enquiries to the Dean of School. You will be required to interact with external agencies, government officials and staff in other education institutions, as well as broadly across the University.
To be successful in this role you will bring with you experience in providing high-level secretarial and administrative support in a university environment or similar large and complex organisation. The role will cover diary and travel management, correspondence, action management, document development, information management and high-level stakeholder liaison. You will also have the ability to draft correspondence of a high standard to internal and external stakeholders. Ideally you will have excellent organisation, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and the proven ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of management, staff and external parties on complex, sensitive and confidential issues.
A relevant tertiary qualification and/or significant administrative expertise in a tertiary education or similar customer service environment.
