About the job

As the Operations Officer, you will be responsible for providing proactive and efficient service to ensure smooth operation and ongoing improvements to the Swinburne Student Residences. This includes designing and creating database reports and pursuing new ways to utilise the Residences database to improve efficiencies. The role is key in planning and coordinating a large scale cleaning and inspection program for 600+ rooms, dividing up maintenance work to appropriate technicians, and liaising with them to ensure works are completed.

The role conducts regular inspections of all apartments, auditing of the facilities and inventory, and corresponds with parties internal and external to the University on behalf of the Residences.

Please note that this role requires the incumbent to be able to meet the moderate physical requirements of the role. This includes regular walking across campuses, regular walking up and down flights of stairs and regular light lifting or reaching.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Completion of an associate diploma level qualification with relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and schedule duties while attending to immediate requirements in a service oriented department.
  • High level database skills in researching and creating systems, workflows & reports
  • A current driver’s licence valid for driving in Victoria
