Visiting Law Tutors

Who are we?

The University of Law (ULaw) is one of the UK’s largest law schools. With an impressive history going back to 1876, we employ c680 staff and attract over 7000 students to study on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. ULaw has an outstanding reputation as a full service legal and educational training specialist, operating from eleven campuses throughout England with additional global reach through online and face to face provision.

Our employability statistics are enviably high (96% of our 2016 full time LPC students secured employment/further education within 9 months of graduation) which is reflected in ULaw’s reputation for producing lawyers and barristers with genuine business and commercial acumen. We also deliver an LLB which has received outstandingly strong reviews in the National Student Survey.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking to recruit Visiting Lecturers in all areas of practice – you will be a qualified lawyer with a genuine passion for quality and excellence, who can demonstrate successful legal practice experience.  You will enjoy being challenged (by students and course content in equal measure) and be able to adapt to the different learning styles of students and methods of course delivery.  You will be eager to share your expertise, primarily teaching on our LPC and GDL programmes.

Although it is important that you have a genuine interest in teaching, we will consider applications from people with no prior teaching experience.  We are also looking for individuals who can demonstrate flexibility in the subjects that they teach, with an expectation that those appointed may be required to teach on a range of the courses that we offer.

Please note that this is not a salaried position, this is a self-employed agreement.  Remuneration rates will be discussed at interview.

Please visit our website for an application form.

Please note, CVs will not be considered and only application forms are accepted for this role.

If you would like to arrange an informal discussion prior to application, please email

No agencies please.

Please note, this role may be subject to a DBS check.
The University of Law is committed to the equality of opportunity.
