Service Asset and Configuration Manager
This post is Permanent, Full Time (35 hours per week)
The Service Management function of Computing and Information Services (CIS) is responsible for a number of ITIL processes used by the department to manage IT services, including Incident, Change, Problem, Continual Service Improvement and Service Asset & Configuration Management. The Service Asset & Configuration Manager has responsibility for the management and delivery of the ITIL processes in support of Service Asset & Configuration Management.
This will involve working with CIS associates and customers across the University in order to ensure that processes are followed, that relevant reporting and documentation associated with the process is produced, and that informed decisions are taken in order to ensure the University is making the most effective use of its service assets. This will include vendor liaison, annual contract review/renewal, budget forecasting and sensitivity analyses.
The post holder will ensure that across CIS, the process is communicated, is understood and is being followed and that quality is maintained, metrics are reported in a timely fashion with exceptions reviewed, and proactive improvement activities initiated. The role will contribute to the design and ongoing roadmap of the Service Management toolset to ensure that Service Asset & Configuration Management is represented and the associated processes and procedures are correctly utilised.
The role requires an appreciation of ITIL V3 framework and lifecycle, a passion for process compliance, excellent engagement and communication skills, ability to motivate and coach staff along with a drive to ensure that IT service disruption is minimised at all times and that key business critical periods are protected.
