School of Social Science

The School of Social Science conducts research and offers courses in criminology, anthropology, archaeology, and sociology. It is one of the largest schools of its type in Australia with around 45 academic staff, 12 professional staff, and 900 equivalent full-time students. The School houses the Anthropology Museum and archaeology laboratories, and also has an outdoor site - The Archaeology Teaching & Research Centre.

The Role

The Student Administration Assistant provides customer service to students and staff, undertakes student administration tasks, and provides support to other team members.

The Person

Applicants must have a Certificate IV or Diploma with relevant work experience; or a Certificate III with extensive relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.  Applicants must demonstrate skills in providing a high level of customer service and have previous experience working in an administrative capacity in a team environment, preferably working in student administration in a university. Experience with Blackboard, Electronic Course Profiles, and Si-Net student administration system would be advantageous.

This is a full-time, fixed-term appointment for 12 months (covering the secondment of another staff member) at HEW Level 4. The remuneration package will be in the range $59,429 to $63,305 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 9.5% (total package will be $65,075 to $69,319 p.a.). For current staff already on 17% super this will remain the same.
