About the opportunity

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Cardiology Research Group at Kolling Institute, led by Prof Ravinay Bhindi. The Group is focussed on studies in Coronary Chronic Occlusion modelling and experimentation, sheer flow simulation, and assessment of the level of cardiac collateralisation and function of collateral vessels after remodelling. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take a lead in computational modelling and its real-life application based on their strong understanding of coronary physiology and cardiac haemodynamics.

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will support the research effort of the Group by providing technical knowledge and expertise, actively contributing to research activities, designing research protocols, undertaking core aspects of research work and contributing to analysis and key findings, applying for funding, and publishing key findings generated by the research group. They will also contribute to the training and supervision of students, and the daily running of the lab.

  • PhD qualification in biomedical science or biomedical engineering
  • expertise and understanding of coronary physiology in cardiac haemodynamics
  • extensive experience in computational imaging and analysis
  • extensive experience in flow simulation and modelling.

Ability to perform statistical analysis would be highly regarded.
