Assistant Director of Communications (at the rank of Administrative Assistant I/II)
Applications are invited for appointment as Assistant Director of Communications (at the rank of Administrative Assistant I/II (AAI/II)) in the Asia Global Institute, to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a good University degree, or an equivalent professional qualification, preferably in Marketing, Communications or Public Administration; with at least 10 years’ experience in international event management, stakeholder relationship engagement, and marketing and social media stewardship. An excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Putonghua) is required. Marketing savvy with knowledge of and keen interest in global issues is highly desirable. The appointee will assist the Director of Operations in the formulation and execution of the Institute’s strategic communications and marketing plans. He/She will be responsible for managing the Institute’s event calendar strategically to reach out to both the HKU community and external stakeholders locally and globally; to spearhead the Institute’s social media efforts; to manage media relations as well as to provide professional marketing advice and support to the different initiatives of the Institute, including but not limited to, AsiaGlobal Fellows program, AsiaGlobal Online Journal, Public Policy research, and teaching programs. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary for AAI, and 10% of basic salary for AAII.
