Professor/Associate Professor, Group Lead Nursing

The School of Health and Human Sciences is a dynamic provider of health practitioner and health scientist education and research. Southern Cross University’s Bachelor of Nursing is one of the largest programs at the University, with over 1000 students studying across three campus locations. The School also offers a Graduate Certificate of Australian Nursing, allowing international students to qualify for Australian nursing registration.
In response to increased demand from both domestic and international students, the School is in an exciting growth phase, developing further courses and nursing pathway programs.
The Group Lead Nursing, as a member of the School’s executive leadership, works closely with the Head of School and the Deputy Head of School to ensure that the academic performance of nursing staff is aligned with School objectives.
Key responsibilities include monitoring and improving the program’s teaching and learning performance, working closely with Course Coordinators to guide the development of quality academic course materials and assessments, and having oversight of accreditation and professional experience activities as they apply to the nursing discipline.
The Group Lead Nursing will play a key role in representing the School in partnership arrangements with health providers within the regions and sits on a number of school committees and projects.
With a doctoral qualification in Nursing and evidence of current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, you will bring to this role a successful and established record of academic or administrative leadership.
Your experience will demonstrate your strengths in people management, communication and inspiring excellence amongst your colleagues. As well as your ability to foster positive relationships and engagement with relevant health and industry bodies.
Evidence of an established research reputation, a strong track record of teaching excellence and experience leading quality course development are also required.
This role can be located at either the Coffs Harbour, Gold Coast or Lismore Campus.
