The University Library is looking for an experienced IT specialist to join our team providing digital systems support and development for our services. This is a key professional post, essential to the successful delivery of strategically important services and support.

You will be part of the team that maintains, supports and develops Library digital systems including: the Library Services Platform (Ex Libris Alma/Primo); digital repositories (EPrints, Digitool); staff intranet (Sharepoint); external website (Sitecore); 3M library self-service equipment; and a range of other applications including Reading Lists and resource bookings. You will be responsible for ensuring that our library systems are accessible, easy to use and fit for purpose, and you will engage proactively in innovation and developments relating to these systems.

You will have an understanding of the configuration and management of federated access and authentication systems (Shibboleth, OpenAthens, LDAP, ADFS) and an interest in developing integration solutions using web APIs.

You should be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and preferably hold a professional qualification in information technology, information and library studies or a related discipline. You should have knowledge of developing applications and ad hoc solutions and reports using SQL, JavaScript and related web technologies, preferably in a library/HE environment. You should be familiar with current digital trends, standards and priorities in libraries and Higher Education, have good written and verbal communication skills, the capacity for analytical thinking and an interest in new technology that can add value to the service.
