UWS is a modern 21st century University that dares to be different. At UWS, we aim to change lives, transform communities and encourage enterprise through outstanding, distinctive and progressive higher education. We actively engage with our students and staff and collaborate with our partners and stakeholders to make sure that all can "Dream, Believe and Achieve".
Education Futures is a new Professional Service at UWS created to support the University to respond to the challenges and opportunities generated by advances in technology. As a modern and adaptable University we have a unique opportunity to leverage these changes in a way that allows our graduates to, not just adapt, but to flourish, in this ever changing digital world.

The Education Futures team will do this by supporting academic staff to embed technology in learning and teaching, and to achieve this we are looking to recruit energetic, ambitious, and focused individuals, who are capable of driving the use of new technologies and approaches across the University.

The successful candidates are likely to be enthusiastic, futures-focused early-adopters who might be experienced Learning Technologists looking to specialise in one of three specific areas: education futures, learnings spaces, or, online learning. They will embrace and drive change, be a knowledgeable and enthusiastic communicator, and have a genuine passion for improving outcomes using technology.

Key to your success will be your genuine passion, and your ability to inspire others with energy, confidence, and enthusiasm.

The role of Education Future Specialist is focused on horizon scanning and identifying emerging trends and the potential impact on education, and on society (including demand for skills) and providing specialist and professional guidance on how to research, plan, pilot, review, and implement, new ideas, technologies and approaches. This will include CPD activities and resources, as well as consultancy offering 121 and group support

As well as Learning Technologists this role may be of interest to those with a background in academic development or research, along with the relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
