Full time (Mondays to Thursdays 1.30-10pm; Fridays 2-10pm; one Saturday every four weeks), permanent position

Would you like to join our Senior Information Assistants managing a dedicated and friendly staff forming the Service Desk Team? The team provides a wide range of support services to staff and students at the university. In this role you will manage and supervise a small team of Information Assistants, Self Service Assistants and Casual Assistants, working collaboratively with three other Senior Information Assistants, ensuring the smooth running of the Service Desk on a day-to-day basis.

In addition to line management responsibilities, you will support staff and students on a wide range of courses and work in a variety of library work areas, including front line customer service delivery, open day support, library tours, the maintenance of resources collections and basic IT support.

As a manager within our customer facing team, you will need enthusiasm and positivity to deliver an exceptional service to our members. You will get involved in anything from helping our members find resources to assisting with general enquiries. You will also help to look after the physical space. It's a great way to build on your skills and experience and develop your potential.

To contribute to the provision of an efficient and effective library service you will need:

  • Experience and familiarity with IT systems
  • Experience of supporting users and team members
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate experience of providing excellent customer service
  • Ability to work using own initiative
