Salary:     £17,764 to £20,989 per annum pro-rata depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

This is a key role in the management of staffing in the School of Medicine with a staff base of over 900, based over eight sites in three cities.  The role holder will work closely with the Staffing Officer (Clinical) and Operations Manager for Staffing and Governance to support staffing administration, delivering an efficient and effective service to staff. This includes providing advice, within clear boundaries, to colleagues on staffing matters related to University policy and supporting administrative processes such as promotions, regradings, honorary appointments and personal development and performance review.  

Candidates must be meticulously organised with the ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously with excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to prioritise your own workload and adapt in the light of altering priorities and pressures is essential as well as current previous experience of working in an administrative role demonstrating accuracy. The successful candidate will also have a high level of IT skills, the ability to build working relations within the team, School and wider University of Nottingham. Experience of using the University’s systems e.g. vacancy manager and having a working knowledge of the University of Nottingham's policies and practices is desirable and would be advantageous. 

This is a part time, fixed term post for a period of 12 months and the hours of work are 21.75 per week. The actual days of work are to be agreed but preferably three consecutive days.  

Requests for secondment from internal candidates will be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.
