Senior Lecturer - Mechanical Engineering
An exciting opportunity has risen for a Course Leader for Mechanical Engineering at the UCLan Burnley Campus.
The successful candidate will have a BEng or MEng in Engineering (or a similar subject) and a PhD, and will support the School of Engineering in delivering its commitments to teaching, research and income generation in the area of manufacturing engineering. Key aims are to secure the future operation and enhancement of the undergraduate and postgraduate engineering programmes and to contribute to teaching and research in the School of Engineering. They should be able to demonstrate effective teaching skills, including the capability to motivate and support students and an ability to contribute to new course developments, a HE teaching qualification is desirable.
The role will involve: engagement in course leadership and development, teaching, research and knowledge transfer, contributions to new developments growing out of our existing courses in mechanical and manufacturing engineering and support for the development/use of distance learning and innovative teaching methods within the School. Experience of teaching in HE, undertaking research and industry experience in engineering, are essential, supported by excellent team working and communication skills.
