An opportunity has arisen for a Student Accommodation Officer to work as part the wider private sector team in the Student Accommodation Service. The post holder will be based mainly at UCLan Burnley Campus and also at the UCLan Preston Campus. Applicants must have experience of working in an accommodation/housing organisation and have a working knowledge of HMOs, the HHSRS and HMO Licensing. Experience of contractual and legal issues relating to accommodation is also essential.
The post involves direct contact and building effective relationships with students, landlords and the general public. The successful candidate will have experience of dealing with customers and possess excellent communication skills. Empathy with students and an understanding of student needs is a key part of this role.
We are looking for someone with IT skills, who is able to work as part of a team and have strong organisational skills. The ability to work independently is critical to this role.
The successful applicant will visit private properties to carry out inspections in and around the Burnley area in order to assess their suitability for letting to students, and assist the UCLan Student Accommodation Service to manage its landlord registration scheme. A good knowledge of the Burnley area would be advantageous.
