Keele University is renowned for its exciting approach to higher education, innovative research, beautiful campus, strong community spirit and outstanding student experience. With a turnover in excess of
£150 million, 10,000 students and a total staff of approximately 2,000, the University provides high quality teaching and research across a wide range of academic disciplines.

The Foundation Year has embarked on an ambitious period of growth and is seeking a new Director to develop the Foundation Year’s portfolio of courses, support educational attainment, enhance the student experience and continue to build strong relationships with all disciplines across the University.

The Foundation Year is an integral part of Keele University from the inception of the University in 1949. The Foundation Year is now home to 500 students with a high reputation and continuing popularity. It provides excellent preparation to all the main degree programmes the University offers. The Foundation Year routes include Business, Health (including medicine), Humanities, Science and Social Science as well as a dedicated International route. All teaching is delivered on the Keele campus by highly qualified academic and professional staff, complemented by an experienced student support team. Students come with a mixture of backgrounds, including non-traditional qualifications, wishing to change subjects, seeking to change career or return after a break in education. The Foundation Year has close links with our Schools across the University and offers students both the requisite knowledge for progression as well as study and employability skills.

Keele University values diversity, and is committed to ensuring equality of opportunity, and to proper and fair representation across its senior decision making groups.
