Lecturer in Lean Manufacturing and Simulation
Working in the School of Mechanical, Aerospace & Automotive Engineering, you will be committed to contributing to our continued success in delivery of engineering programmes. You will join a School with high levels of teaching quality and student satisfaction (ranked by the Guardian University Guide in the country's top two for our courses in Mechanical Engineering).
The successful candidate will be able to contribute to the delivery of topics relating to lean manufacturing and simulation with a particular emphasis industrial application and Industrie 4.0. You will need to share our passion for delivering a positive student experience that puts excellence in teaching and learning at the heart of everything we do and will be able to demonstrate significant knowledge in your area of specialisation and support the school's research culture. You must be willing to work flexibly and promote and support international partnerships, as well as potentially deliver teaching onsite at one of our international partners.
Successful candidates will be encouraged to be research active. As such you will actively contribute to research groups or communities of practice internally and/or externally, assisting with bids and tenders for external projects or contracts. You will also disseminate research outputs and develop external networks nationally and/or internationally.
The position is also open to candidates who wish to focus on teaching practice, development and management.
Experience of working on applied research projects or contracts, as well as participation in professional practice/consultancy will be advantageous.
The candidate should be qualified to PhD level in a relevant subject. Alternatively, candidates with relevant industrial experience to an equivalent level are also encouraged to apply.
