Job Description

Reporting to the IS&T PMO Program Director, the IS&T Business Analyst (BA 1) is responsible for discovering, validating, documenting and communicating business processes and requirements for small to medium projects. The BA facilitates requirements gathering and business process re-engineering with small groups of clients, typically from a single domains. The BA is an integral part of project teams and responsible for understanding and representing the clients requirements throughout the project lifecycle. Key responsibilities include: - Collaborating with clients to understand and document as-is and to-be processes and requirements. Working with clients to analyze, design and develop new business processes to meet the business objectives. Responsibilities include facilitation of meetings with small groups of client to reach agreement on requirements. - Translating and documenting business processes and requirements into use cases, activity diagrams and other models - Working with Project Managers to ensure smooth and timely completion of requirements, and provides input on scope and approach in project plans. - Working with internal IS&T teams to deliver functional specifications. - Acting as client advocate during project lifecycle to ensure business requirements and processes are understood and addressed during design, development, SIT and UAT.

Required Skills

The ideal BA candidate will join an energetic team focused on delivering high quality projects in partnership with a variety of departments within IS&T and across the University. Solid understanding of analytic practices such as BABOK are preferred. IT project experience and an understanding of full SDLC helpful. Candidate must have strong communication, interpersonal and team leadership skills along with a willingness to learn. Three to five years of related experience desired. Salary is competitive.
