Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in Liver Cancer in the Department of Pathology, to commence as soon as possible for three years, with the possibility of renewal.

This position is available in the Department of Pathology and State Key Laboratory for Liver Research, to identify novel molecular and cellular mechanisms of liver cancer. We seek applications from candidates with expertise in biochemistry, molecular biology, and cell biology, with strong interests in translational research utilizing mouse models of liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma, HCC) as well as human tissues/cells.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in biomedical science, with in-depth experience in the following: immunoblotting; immunoprecipitation, including protein immunoprecipitation (IP), protein complex immunoprecipitation (Co-IP), chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP); qPCR; RNA-Seq; maintenance and propagation of cell lines; cell culture; lentiviral transduction; luciferase-reporter assay; organoids and mouse models. The ability to work independently, to participate in highly collaborative projects, and to contribute intellectually to the development of the research are requisites for the position. Applicants should be highly motivated individuals with the ability to work in a team environment, and have good oral and written communication skills in English. Those who have strong interest in translational research and appreciate the complexity of biological systems are particularly encouraged to apply. The appointee will work under the supervision of Professor Irene Ng in research projects to investigate molecular and cellular mechanisms of HCC (http://www.hku.hk/patho/staff/list/ing.html).
