The Global Development Portfolio is responsible for making RMIT genuinely global in reputation, operations and outlook. Under the leadership of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global Development) and Vice President, the portfolio:
- identifies, reviews and harnesses opportunities to further enhance RMIT's global model,
- nurtures RMIT alumni and stewards RMIT's philanthropic activity,
- leads and coordinates RMIT's global education partnerships,
- manages global experience opportunities for RMIT students, staff and alumni.
In addition, it connects and coordinates RMIT's presences throughout the world including RMIT entities in Australia, Vietnam and Europe (Spain) and representative offices in other countries.
The Role & Your Responsibilities
The Manager Global Risk and Compliance supports the performance and management of global programs and partners, with a particular focus on partnered education delivery outside of Australia. The incumbent will provide high-level comprehensive advice on relevant Australian and offshore compliance regimes and regulatory requirements, and ensure monitoring and management of these requirements. This position is responsible for collaboratively identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement, including recommendations from internal audits and undertaking projects to support the achievement of the Global Development portfolio's objectives. This position works closely with stakeholders, particularly colleagues within the Global Development and Performance unit, the Finance and Governance Portfolio, regulatory bodies and partners, to strengthen the risk and compliance management of RMIT's global education partnership activities. The position requires strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build positive relationships across the University and with international stakeholders.
Skills & Experience Required
You will provide high-level comprehensive advice on relevant Australian and offshore compliance regimes and regulatory requirements, with a specific focus on partnered education delivery; and ensure monitoring and management of these requirements. Important to this role will be your experience in compliance and risk management in a highly regulated organisation. Ideally you will have in-depth understanding of the financial, legal, and regulatory issues relevant to transnational operations; with the ability to distil complex regulations into simple, plain English and action plans. Key to success in this role will be experience in the review and management of risk registers and providing risk and compliance management coaching to colleagues to ensure that risks are being identified and managed effectively and as intended. You will also have experience in reviewing and preparing policies, guidelines and reports in order to improve processes, templates and transparency for effective quality, risk and compliance management.
