Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor in Mechanical Engineering
The college of engineering operates on dual sector mode and the appointee will be responsible to the Dean in preparation of TEVT and Higher Education programmes in Mechanical Engineering at International level for accreditation and effective delivery to students in preparation of practitioners of art and science in engineering. Also, be able to teach mechanical engineering design, computer aided design/ analyses and any other subject in mechanical engineering at undergraduate and graduate levels including preparation of examination papers, marking and reporting of assessment according to policies and procedures. The person will be required to lead industry based projects through research and consultancy in his or her areas of expertise. The responsibilities will extend to review, upgrade and develop new programmes in view of changing technology in keeping with developing industries. Further, the applicant will be required to take administrative and other duties as prescribed by the Dean.
For Assistant a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a discipline with Mechanical as the core area. Applicants with either a formal tertiary teaching qualification or a good relevant tertiary (normally an aggregate of four years) teaching experience will be given higher preference. For Professor and Associate Professor level applicants, along with the above qualifications applicants should have over 10-15 years of teaching & work experience. An Associate Professor/ Professor is required to make an outstanding contribution to research and/or scholarship at the University. He/she shall have the ability to also provide an outstanding contribution to the collegial life and will have attained recognition at a national or international level in his/her discipline. A Professor will have the same skill base as an Associate Professor but will be recognized as a leading authority in the relevant discipline area.
