The School of Language and Global Studies at the University of Central Lancashire wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Chinese Interpreting and Translation to contribute to the academic development, course management, teaching, research development and scholarship within the School in the area of Chinese Studies.

The successful applicant will havea good Honours Degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline and a relevant postgraduate qualification.
Experience of teaching Chinese conference interpreting and translation in a higher education environment is essential. Prior relevant industry experience is also required. Experience of teaching Chinese Language and/or Society in a higher education environment is essential. An ability to teach and supervise dissertations up to Masters level, as well as an ability to undertake research and/or knowledge transfer, is also required.

The post-holder will have an excellent record of working as part of an academic team, fluency in Chinese and English with an understanding and appreciation of cultural norms, excellent presentation and communication skills, as well as being IT literate and demonstrating a willingness to develop innovative teaching methods.
