We are seeking a dynamic forward thinking individual, with a proven ability to influence and succeed within a complex and fast paced environment.
We are seeking an individual with significant safety, health and environment experience to support the work of the Health and Safety Department in the role of one of the Lead Safety, Health and Environment Adviser reporting to the SHE Manager. The successful candidate will:
- Provide comprehensive advice and support in the maintenance and improvement of SHE compliance across the University including construction, estates and maintenance.
- Design, develop, implement and audit University risk management processes for the health and safety management of construction, maintenance and estates.
- Play an important role assisting the SHE Department in promoting health and safety culture across the University with a strong emphasis on coaching and training.
- Contribute to the development of junior staff within the within the SHE Department.
Significant experience of working in the field of safety, health and environment is essential. An ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and initiative is essential as is an ability to influence positively at all levels in the University as well as manage your own and others workloads to meet deadlines.
Educated to degree level coupled with a NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and Chartered membership of IOSH, the successful applicant will also have a good working knowledge and application of Health & Safety legislation.
