Senior Technician - Fire
The University of Central Lancashire wishes to recruit a Senior Technician to join our Technical Services team who provide support to the Fire Laboratory and the new Oil & Gas Laboratory (Jan. 2019). The successful candidate will be primarily focussed on supporting undergraduate classes, research and IGA activities within our Engineering & Workshops team. This post will play an integral role in the expansion of support for not only the School of Engineering, but the wider university.
The existing Fire Laboratory features an extensive range of current fire test standard equipment and accompanies a well established and respected fire research centre.

The role holder will also be required to undertake general equipment maintenance and safety checks, equipment inventory checks and updates, as well as providing advice as required. The successful candidate will be naturally inquisitive and will possess a range of relevant skills and experience, which they will be enthusiastic to apply in a variety of different applications. They will have the ability to work with initiative and independently, to set priorities and to work co-operatively within a diverse team.
The ability to adapt your knowledge and experience to support staff and students across the wide range of subject disciplines we support would be an advantage. Applicants must also have good verbal and written communication skills.
