Detailed Description

Edinburgh Business School is looking to appoint an Assistant Professor in the Organisational Behaviour and/or Leadership areas. The successful candidate will be required to participate in a range of postgraduate teaching, learning and assessment activities across our various delivery modes including our three campuses, approved learning partners and online.

This role is ideal for an academic who aspires to work in an environment that allows them to combine practical experience with contemporary approaches to management theory to bring the best ideas to their students.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Deliver programmes to the highest teaching standards to our students across a variety of locations, globally.
  • Contribute to curriculum development in the subject area, thus ensuring our courses and programmes remain current, relevant, and of the highest academic standard.
  • Provide flexible, appropriate, and timely support to students using a variety of media.
  • Prepare and mark assessments as required, and in line with EBS policies and standards.
  • Act as supervisor and mentor for students completing postgraduate dissertations.
  • Act as an EBS representative on University committees and working groups.
  • Contribute to the development of school pedagogy with a view to informing the curriculum and learning materials.
  • Ensure research is aligned to EBS programmes and used to inform and update content.
  • Engage in industry-based, collaborative research, and build reputation through publication in both peer-review and professional journals.

To undertake other duties as required by the Head of School or their representative.

Education, qualifications and experience

The ideal candidate will have a PhD or equivalent, experience of postgraduate teaching and relevant managerial industry experience. Experience with MBA students and online or distance-learning programmes would be an advantage.
