Overview

The discipline of Computing and Security within the School of Science has the largest program of cyber security research and teaching in Australia; is one of only two federal government recognized Academic Centers of Cyber Security Excellence; and, is the home to the Cyber Security Cooperative Research Centre (Cyber-CRC) that was recently established with academic, government and industry partners attracting around $140m of funding.

 Our courses are informed by an active research program, with much of the related research being aligned to the Security Research Institute - an internationally recognized leader in multidisciplinary security science research. We are currently seeking applicants for a number of positions, directly supporting our Bachelors and Masters courses. 

This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated academic to pursue teaching and research in a growing area of national and international strategic importance.

Applications are encouraged from those with a Masters in a related discipline (e.g. Computer Science/Cyber Security) who wish to undertake a PhD; those already registered for a PhD; and, those who have been awarded a PhD in an appropriate discipline. 

Those with research experience in computer science who wish to focus their career on cyber security are also strongly encouraged to apply.  Appointments can be made at ALEVA (from $68,873) through to ALEVD (up to $157,563) with the ability to offer fixed-term or ongoing contracts at fractional/full-time depending on the applicant and their experience.

Benefits & Remuneration

This position attracts remuneration of $68,873 to $157,563 (ALEVA-ALEVD) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
