The ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science & the ANU College of Science are dedicated to contributing to The Australian National University’s reputation for excellence in research and research-led education. CECS is at the leading edge within numerous fields, including logic, algorithms and data, signal processing, artificial intelligence, computer vision and robotics, computational mechanics, materials, fabrication, big software systems, renewable energy, networked systems and quantum cybernetics.

While CoS has a strong tradition of research excellence that has fostered distinguished Nobel Laureates and Kyoto Prize winners and that trains scientific leaders in disciplines in which the ANU is consistently ranked in the top twenty in the world.

We are looking to appoint up to three (3) Research Fellows for a cross institutional joint Program between the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) and the College of Science (CoS) at the Australian National University (ANU).

As one of the founding researchers of the newly established Battery Storage and Grid Integration Program you will address fundamental questions about battery and energy storage, its integration in electricity systems and markets, and how battery and energy storage can be used to support the deployment of increasing amounts of renewable energy generation.

You will have a strong track record in research, industry or policy development and you will undertake world-leading research and development to create global impact through publication, presentations, technology development, commercialisation, or policy engagement. You will collaborate with other leading researchers, industry and government to understand and address these significant interdisciplinary problems.

We are a new type of research group and as a researcher in the Battery Storage and Grid Integration Program you will break the mould, you will be motivated to address some of the great energy challenges of our age, and you will be passionate in your pursuit of the unconventional.
