Aston Law School, a constituent part of Aston Business School, has a distinctive mission – the provision of commercially intelligent legal education – reflecting our position in a leading international business school and in a university focused on maximising the employability of its students.

We currently offer two qualifying law degrees and also deliver law modules across a wide range of business and management programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We have ambitious expansion plans and are now seeking to recruit a Senior Lecturer to support these plans by providing additional teaching, research and enterprise expertise in the area of Media or Privacy Law.

An ability to contribute to the teaching and research of Media or Privacy Law is essential. The ability to offer other legal subjects is highly desirable.

The successful applicant will have a track record of, or potential for, strong research (appropriate to career stage) and a well-developed plan of research that covers the remaining period of the REF cycle and beyond. They will also be committed to excellent teaching and outstanding student support and have a PhD.

As a growing Law School we offer a friendly, supportive and vibrant community of legal scholars embedded in a world-leading business faculty.
The post is available at grade 10 on a full- or part-time basis. This post is being offered in conjunction with a Lectureship in Media and Privacy Law. If you would like to be considered for both levels of appointments please complete the application process for both advertisements.

The post is available to start in the autumn of 2018. Informal enquiries about this post should be addressed to Dr Ryan Murphy (Dean of Aston Law School) by email r.murphy1@aston.ac.uk or telephone 0121 204 3347.
