Director of the Durham Award
Durham University is seeking to appoint a Director of the Durham Award to lead the development, piloting, implementation and on-going delivery of the University’s new Durham Award. A high-profile commitment in the University’s new strategy, the new Durham Award will support students to plan, develop, articulate and evidence the qualities, skills and experience they will graduate with. As well as enhancing graduate employability, the Award will also support students’ intellectual development, and encourage and recognise their wider contributions as local and global citizens.
We are seeking a talented individual capable of leading and managing the multi-strand implementation project, ensuring the award is delivered to a high standard, on schedule and within budget. They will have outstanding stakeholder engagement skills and will need to maximise buy-in amongst students, staff and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of personal development and how this can be best enabled. Although they need not come from an academic background, they will need to demonstrate the skills needed to successfully deliver a programme combining educational, social, personal and professional development in one of the UK’s leading universities on an on-going basis.
