Chair/Reader in Immunology
The School of Medicine at the University of Central Lancashire are seeking to appoint a Chair/Reader in Clinical Immunology.
The post holder will be expected to lead in the development of teaching and research programmes within the School of Medicine in the area of Clinical Immunology.
Duties will include:
- Academic Leadership: providing professional leadership in assisting the Head of the School of Medicine in both medical research, teaching and learning, student experience and knowledge transfer within the School.
- Research and Scholarship: leading, developing and undertaking high quality programmes of research. Encouraging local, national and international research in close collaboration with all appropriate stakeholders.
- Teaching: assisting in the teaching of students, contributing to CPD, outreach and public engagement activities of the School and to carry out other activities as an academic member of the School
Holding Full Registration with the GMC; MRCP; a PhD, MD or similar; and on the Medical Specialist Register, the successful applicant will have a substantial track record of academic, research and educational experience and achievement. With an excellent record of building and sustaining relationships with a variety of stakeholders, the successful applicant will have excellent leadership skills and have the ability to operate in a structured, yet complex and challenging environment. As a credible and well-respected individual, the successful applicant will have a sound understanding of key quality and governance issues related to clinical practice, course development and academic leadership. DBS clearance is required for this role.
