Position Description

The Molecular and Integrative Physiological Sciences (MIPS) Program in the Department of Environmental Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health seeks candidates for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Molecular and Integrative Biological Sciences. This is a tenure-track ladder position with the academic rank reflecting the candidate’s experience and productivity.

We seek candidates with innovative and/or multidisciplinary approaches to the study of mechanisms of diseases that result from environmental exposures.

Basic Qualifications

Candidates for this position should hold a PhD, ScD, or MD equivalent doctoral degree, and have a demonstrated record of research accomplishments in cell biology, molecular biology, systems biology, bioengineering, or physiology. Use of model organisms and novel technologies is encouraged.

Additional Qualifications

This tenure track position offers outstanding intellectual and physical resources in a collegial and collaborative atmosphere. The candidate will interact with other faculty studying basic mechanisms of lung disease, and responses to air pollution, metals, and nanoparticles. Interactions and collaborations with nearby academic entities such as the Harvard Medical School, Harvard’s Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology are encouraged. 

The position offers the opportunity to mentor exceptional students and post-doctoral trainees. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an independent and collaborative extramurally funded research program, and to participate in teaching graduate-level courses.
