The School wishes to appoint a highly motivated individual to join our enthusiastic and committed MBBS Phase 2 teaching team. The post is for 2 hours per week to join the Year 3 team on a Tuesday There may be the opportunity to increase the time commitment of the post as the programme grows.

The postholder will be responsible for managing delivery and assessment of the student selected components (SSCs) in Years 3 initially and thereafter Years 4 and 5 of the UCLan MBBS Programme. The SSC is a longitudinal student project undertaken throughout the academic year. In Years 3 and 4 the focus is on audit and quality assurance; Year 5 is yet to be determined.
The postholder will Identify and maintain a portfolio of appropriate SSC opportunities and placement supervisors for delivery of SSCs and will work with the Phase 2 SSC Lead Tutor to ensure alignment with SSC delivery at Burnley Campus. The duties of the post will require time to be spent both in the clinical setting and at the UCLan campus at WCMEC.

Applicants will have substantial experience of having recently worked as a medical practitioner within a clinical setting. Experience of teaching undergraduate medical students and providing mentoring or support to students or trainees is also required. Full registration with the General Medical Council is essential.

The successful applicant will be self-motivated and proactive in their approach to challenges and opportunities and will be able to work on own initiative or as part of a team. Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written form and an ability to generate clear and concise documentation are also essential skills for success in this role.
