Deputy Head of Student Support and Wellbeing
The University of Central Lancashire is seeking to appoint a Deputy Head of Student Support & Wellbeing Services. This role encompasses strategic leadership and management for the counselling, mental health & wellbeing team spanning across three campuses in addition to a range of responsibilities across the whole Student Support and Wellbeing portfolio. The role holder will deputise for and assist the Head of Student Support and Wellbeing Services with the planning, development, leadership and delivery of multi-disciplinary, high quality, efficient, professional services ensuring that the service follows best professional practice.
The successful applicant will be required to be proactive and have a positive student centred attitude and approach with an ability to motivate and lead individuals and teams. They will need to demonstrate the ability to negotiate and work within appropriate professional boundaries, and to manage potentially difficult or conflict situations with confidence.
The successful applicant will be educated to degree level or possess equivalent industry experience and hold a professional or service management subject qualification and/or postgraduate management qualification or equivalent.
The applicant will also need extensive experience of effective team management in a client based support service along with significant experience in a leadership role, leading change in a service-based environment. Significant management experience of working in a further or higher education environment is also required.

There will also be a requirement for flexible working to support emergency and crisis cases.
