This senior leadership role provides an opportunity for an inspiring Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander academic leader. The Pro-Vice-Chancellor Equity and Indigenous incorporates the role of Head of Kurongkurl Katitijin, ECU’s Centre for Indigenous Australian Education and Research.
As a key member of the Executive team the appointed individual will be responsible for maintaining and building on the momentum of the Centre’s already earned reputation as a national leader in Indigenous research and education to become a world leader.
The PVC Equity and Indigenous will have an opportunity to create a unique environment for manifesting a commitment to equity; collaborating in the development and execution of university-wide equity initiatives; and highlighting the value of equity throughout the University particularly as it relates to underrepresented and marginalised populations.
Candidates with vision and capacity to lead, develop and support ECU wide activities and programs that meet academic and cultural needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, and raises awareness of Indigenous cultures and issues amongst the general community are encouraged to apply.
