As part of the Faculty of Business and Law, the School of Marketing and Management is looking to appoint a highly motivated individual who can provide leadership and management as Deputy Head of School. The Deputy Head of School is a key role in supporting the Head of School to deliver the School's growth plans, especially in driving forward our position as a part of thriving academic community engaged in innovative education and impactful research both nationally and internationally

As Deputy Head of School, you will contribute to the strategic direction, academic and discipline/subject leadership and line management for staff within the School. A key part of this role will be working closely with the Head of School and Associate Heads of School, each of whom has specific responsibility for portfolio areas to support achievement of the School strategy and objectives, aligned to Faculty and Corporate Plan objectives. With a proven track record in strategic planning, resource management and delivery, you will be expected to have excellent people skills and be confident in developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to encourage collaboration and build networks. It is vital that you are able to operationalise plans and mobilise effective use of resource to achieve results. You will ensure portfolio objectives are understood and applied effectively in fulfilment of the University's Mission Statement and Corporate Plan

You will be expected to maintain teaching, research and scholarly activity as required and participate fully as a member of the School leadership team. You will be expected to have a doctorate (or an equivalent level of professional experience and a relevant Postgraduate degree) and have expertise in one of the School's disciplines. Whilst this is a permanent appointment,tenure to the specialist Deputy Head of School role will be by way of a secondment of 4 years. After this time, the secondment may be extended or else the post holder will revert to a Principal Lecturer role.
