£38,833 to £49,149 per annum, permanent post

York St John University is in an exciting period of growth and expansion and will be offering undergraduate Law degrees for the first time in 2018-19. This post represents a unique and desirable opportunity for an experienced academic to contribute to the delivery of the flagship LLB programme, and critically to assist us in establishing the U.K.s newest Law School as a centre for excellence in both teaching and research.

We are seeking a new Senior Lecturer in Law to join this vibrant and growing Law School at its inception. The Law School is a dynamic and exciting place to work. It is also a place that embodies the mission of York St John University in seeking to widen participation in Higher Education and aims to forward the goals of social justice and equality throughout all its activity. This new appointment will play a critical role not only in the successful delivery of our new undergraduate LLB programme, but also in the development of the Law School and continued expansion of its undergraduate, postgraduate and research activity. Our new Senior Lecturer will be an experienced and accomplished academic, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality, accessible legal education and undertake relevant research.

The successful candidate will have the ability to teach at least one core Law subject, and a willingness to undertake teaching in Contract Law and/ or Land Law. The successful candidate must also have experience of undertaking PhD supervision, or the potential to do so. Experience of developing and managing programmes is desirable.
