About the job
This position reports to the Learning Advisor Co-ordinator and is accountable for providing expert advice to existing and prospective students on the courses that we offer and how those courses might enable them to achieve the career progression that they are seeking. Learning Advisors engage with clients via phone, email and on occasion face to face, the clients may contact us directly and indirectly through campaigns and / or our website.
The incumbent is responsible for the accurate and timely data entry into the IS database to ensure that we have a record of all leads. An excellent communicator the Learning Advisor must be able to engage quickly with prospective clients and work to convert their enquiry into an enrolment. This Learning Advisors are responsible for generating revenue through sales and as such, this position has a direct sales target attached to it.
About the department
Swinburne Professional is an organisational unit reporting to the Vice President of Engagement. Swinburne Professional has been developed to service the needs of industry across the whole of the Swinburne community, acting as the gateway for industry interaction with the University, working with Engagement, the Higher Education and PAVE divisions. Products and services include brokering commercial opportunities, consultancy, learning and development products and workplace training. SIS acts on behalf of the university to develop strong industry partnerships and alliances and from this to develop commercial income streams for faculties and schools.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Completion of a degree without subsequent relevant work experience; or completion of a diploma and at least 2 years subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Demonstrated, relevant experience in the inbound / outbound sales and customer service environment with proven results in the achievement of targets. This would ideally be in an education environment
- Demonstrated outstanding customer service skills with a willingness to go out of their way to ensure that the customer is satisfied.
