TEST Trial Manager
We are seeking a dynamic individual to act as a Trial Manager for the Trial of Eczema Allergy Test (TEST) study. This post offers and excellent opportunity for an experienced research leader to join a multidisciplinary team within the University of Bristol, and collaborators at the Universities of Nottingham and Southampton.
TEST is a feasibility RCT (with economic scoping and nested qualitative study) funded by the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) School for Primary Care Research (SPCR). It will determine the feasibility of a definitive trial comparing food allergy testing and advice versus usual care, for the management of eczema in children. The trial manager on this project will have a leading role in ensuring that TEST is set-up, run and shut-down successfully in accordance with all the regulatory requirements, the required timescale and within budget.
The post requires strong organisational skills to administer and support the study. The trial manager will liaise with collaborating academics and researchers, practice managers/clinicians at each practice, and with the parents/carers of children recruited into the study. The successful candidate will be expected to work on their own initiative, seeking guidance and advice where necessary from the chief/principal investigators and other collaborators. They will have significant autonomy and freedom to act independently within organisational policies and will need to take a high level of responsibility. They will need to anticipate difficulties and resolve relatively complex issues in a timely and effective manner.
